Numerous imaging examples and labeled photographs of cross-sectional anatomy are included to help students think in terms of three-dimensional anatomy. Surface anatomy sections provide surface landmarks of important anatomic structures located beneath the skin and often bypassed by practicing clinicians.

I’m a 1st yr naturopathic med student and recently was told about this book. I wish I would’ve known about it at the beginning of the year! This book makes anatomy much easier to understand because it simplifies it. I had been using Moore and Daley’s “Clinical Anatomy”, which is great and thorough but overwhelmingly detailed for my 1st year. I think that Snell’s book will give me a good basic understanding and then I’ll use Moore and Daley for when I need to know more detail. My curriculum is also set up by systems and that’s another reason why I like Snell’s book. I gave it 4/5 stars because the illustrations are not good, but I get around that by using Netter’s or Grey’s anatomy atlas.
