To be clear, my issue isn’t with the text itself. Rodak’s Clinical Hematology Atlas is a good resource for reviewing the nuances required to differentiate cells on peripheral blood smears (and marrow aspirates, if you’re that fortunate). My problem here is with the quality of the images included in the digital text. They’re of rather low resolution and are decidedly inferior as a reference. The accompanying text is fine, but it loses context when the images are grainy and don’t resolve well. While you can zoom, it’s a somewhat futile exercise that will make you opine for a CSI-style ‘enhance’ button.
