This full-color atlas is designed for all students taking separate or integrated courses in human anatomy and physiology. This atlas can accompany and augment any human anatomy, human physiology or combined human anatomy and physiology textbook. It is designed to be of particular value to students in a laboratory situation and could either accompany a laboratory manual or, in certain courses, it could serve as the laboratory manual.
Great care has gone into the preparation of this photographic atlas to provide students with a complete set of photographs for each of the human body systems. Cat, fetal pig, and rat dissection are also included for those students who have the opportunity to do similar dissections as part of their laboratory requirement. In addition, photographs of a sheep heart dissection are also included.
A visual balance is achieved between the various levels available to observe the structure of the body. Completely labeled, informative figures are depicted clearly and accurately. The terms used in this atlas are those that are approved and recommended by the Basle Nomina Anatomica (BNA).
My college recommended the Biology version of this book so I wanted to see if this author also had an A&P version and surely enough they did. After receiving the biology version I knew I had to get this one. They’re so detailed it’s almost ridiculous. For instance they’re 12 pages alone showing different diagrams and inside views of the human skull. It shows dissections, X-rays views, literally everything you might need to help you with A&P!
If you are planning to take or are starting college level Anatomy, this book is amazing and was one of the reasons I got a good grade in Lab practicals. Most professors give a lab manual lacking visuals and just give instructions for dissections, with this Atlas I had tremendous help visualizing the instructions and help memorizing the body parts on the cat like the muscles and bones. ALSO, a great way to study when you are not in lab because it labels everything like the models of the organs. MUST BUY !!!!!
