Experience with clinical cases is key to mastering the art and science of medicine and ultimately to providing patients with competent clinical care. Case Files: Cardiology provides 30 real-life cases that illustrate essential concepts in cardiac care. Each case includes an easy-to-understand discussion correlated to key concepts, definitions of key terms, clinical pearls, and board-style review questions to reinforce your learning. With Case Files, you’ll learn instead of memorize.
Absolutely an amazing book! 4th yr Med student at U of M and read it to prepare for my cardiology Sub I but wish I would’ve read it early during my clinical/M3 year. Concise but very informative in regards to clinical relevance. Does a great job at incorporating basic science when necessary but not overwhelming. Also the first 60 pgs prior to the cases do a great job at explaining fundamental cardiology principles in a detailed but easy to understand way from the HPI, normal & abnormal physical exam findings, EKG and various diagnostic/surgical procedures. I thought this was one of the stronger aspects of this book compared to other case file series I’ve read. Probably the best organized Case Files I’ve seen so far!
