This book is the’ thinner and lighter’ in weight version-two pluses and one minus: it’s the ‘error in coding’ version, that’s why it’s so much less in cost. But, that’s OK, it takes less than 10 mins to pen in the code changes. Go to the APA’s website and download the DSM-5 Coding update of March 2014 and you’ll see on the first page “updates at a glance’ how few changes to the text in the manual you have to make. The rest of that document lists every instance in which the code appears, such as in the alpha and numerical index.

I understand everyone’s frustration about it not being spiral bound. However, and I know this costs slightly more money for something that should have been thought of before it was mass produced, you can get it spiraled at a place like Office Max for less than $10. They will slightly shave off the binding and spiral it for you, making it actually functional for it’s purpose. Just thought I should share this :).
