Treatments are related to extent of deformity, remodeling post-surgery and possible recurrence.

This is an outstanding comprehensive text, atlas and encyclopedia of cartilaginous, bone, and joint diseases in children and adolescents. The embryological development of bone precursors is discussed in depth including genetic control and expression and the clinical applications of technologies. Numerous radiographs of bone diseases are displayed. The dysplasias and connective tissue deformities are described. Kyphosis, scoliosis, and genetic diseases affecting the spine are included in the chapters on spine disorders.

Diagnosis, treatment, complications and sequelae of bone diseases are well discussed. Longterm prognosis is also included. Metabolic bone diseases and their treatment are also chronicled ranging from serious to less severe. I recommend this book to all residents and fellows working in orthopaedic surgery.
