I have to confess that I am a newly admitted professor in the Biochemistry area who bought almost all the main textbooks available in the last months, and although this book is not the unique reference, for me indeed it became a reference.
The difference here is that the clinical relevance of the issues is more clearly detailed, without loosing the focus on the obligatory themes that medical students need in the first year.
