While the latter is certainly not the primary focus of the book, the discussion of the role of perioperative TEE outside of cardiac surgery is unique and reflects the growing role of this important diagnostic and monitoring technique. This edition’s generous use of color illustrations distinguishes it from similar books and increases its usefulness. This excellent resource would be a worthy addition to the reference library of any physician who commonly uses TEE in the perioperative setting.”
