I found this book very good for consolidation of renal and urinary physiology. Of course, the book should be used as more a tool to determine you have covered topics well enough. However, in the later years, or on a placement in nephrology, this book can only serve as a guide (albeit a very effective and helpful guide) on what you need to perhaps do further research into.

Like the other books in the crash course series, I believe this one is one of the must-haves for medical students. Relatively reasonably priced, it serves to be a great revision tool and personally I’ve been using it a lot as nephrology was never my strong suit.

The chapters are organised very well, with very useful structuring of each topic into an easily readable resource for the medical student.

Explanations and pathologies are very well and accurately described, with good use of various diagrams and illustrations to make life for a student that much easier. I loved the summary boxes and especially the `Hints and Tips’ boxes that helped with regards to summarising the information required into very few and easily understandable bullet points
