Having used the Foundation Programme book over the last week I have found it hugely beneficial. This text is great to refer to, as well as providing a sense of reassurance that I am doing the right thing! The systematic approach of the book, and neatly put together sections ensures nothing is overlooked. What I also find particularly appealing about it is chapters 1 and 2, which are full of tips on subjects only briefly covered at medical school. Many of my fellow colleagues showed a keen interest when I showed them the book and stated that they would find it very helpful in their day to day ward work. This is probably the best book to have during your clinical years of medicine. I would go as far as to say its better than the OHB for clinical medicine. The reason for this being it is much more practically orientated in helping you identify and manage conditions you will see when you first become a doctor. It provides concise differentials for most common presentations with recent management guidelines. It is more practical and less theoretical than most other OHBs. I highly recommend for all medical students and foundation doctors.
