Description

With vivid, color illustrations, this text explores techniques for interpreting macroscopic morphologies and the results of specific diagnostic tests. In one comprehensive volume, it covers all major divisions of diagnostic microbiology: bacteriology, virology, parasitology, and mycology. All areas of critical importance to diagnostic microbiology specimen handling, rapid testing methods, immunological testing, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing are explored and illustrated. Additionally, a special introductory section based on OSHA blood-borne pathogen regulations discusses the techniques, clothing and equipment used in the lab.

* An excellent companion to Bailey & Scott’s Diagnostic Microbiology. * Authored by a microbiologist, a pathologist, and a medical technologist. * Includes brand new, exclusive photographs. * Discusses and illustrates the multiple appearances of identical microbes when different media and tests are employed.

⭐ This atlas beats all the other atlas hands down. I have never seen one
atlas contain some many color examples of all the major disease causing
microbes and how each one responds to the various diagnostic tests that are
performed on them. A must for anyone who is in college for microbiology or
clinical lab tech. Each photo has a paragraph next to it detailing which
organism it is, along with detailing what the results of the test are and
why. No more fumbling thru huge textbooks books looking with the
information you need and to only find out that there isn’t a photo you can
refer to. The only way to learn how to identify microorganisms is by visual
learn and when you only have access to the lab one day a week you really
must have something at home that you can always refer to.

⭐ Too much on uninteresting part.

⭐ Love this atlas and so do my students!

⭐ When I confuse very much in topic of Microbiology laboratory method. I see
this book in my faculty’s library. I read this. It simply guide me
step-by-step to understand the topic. It has clear photograph, complete
information, but the price is too expensive.
