⭐ First I would like to say I am an anesthesiologist practicing for 10 years , and critical care represent a big portion of our practice .When I saw 17 reviewers praise the book, I immediately bought it without thinking .Sadly to say , I didn’t like this book at all for 2 reasons1- it is redundant in writing style , sentences are not light , and content of a paragraph is very low yield , this creates boredom and anger , but there is no much fish to catch2- second , sentences are complex some times and its accuracy require investigation . Eg “ small LMA causes airway obstruction “ really ? I never read such words before , and so on. I cannot mention all annoying unclear sentences I read.For example I read a chapter from this book , and same chapter from another book Paul Marino “ Cardiac arrest chapter “ You cannot imagine how informative amusing easy style in Paul Marino compared to this book that is very redundant low yield .To be honest I didn’t read the whole book , but I read enough to sense the book style and content . I will force myself continuing reading , hopefully I can upgrade my evaluation .I have been teaching residents and medical students in the field of anesthesia , and I love knowing about books in all fields. To sum up, and up to the minute of writing , I don’t recommend this book.

⭐ Absolutely great coverage of concepts, treatment/ procedures, and disease processes unique to critical care medicine !! Outstanding book for all critical care personnel.

⭐ This book is really one of a kind–physiology-based, practical, up to date, comprehensive, and educational. Well explained rationales for diagnosis and treatment immensely help understanding and retention. Great mix of core fundamentals and advanced information in Intensive Care.

The way the different topics are presented is unique and they all have a very practical approach –something you can’t really find in other resources such as UpToDate. I highly recommend it, no doubt a very good investment!
