Jeremy Kirk qualified at Charing Cross Hospital in 1980. Following initial training in adult medicine, he entered paediatrics in 1983, training in paediatric endocrinology at the Middlesex, St. Bartholomew’s and Great Ormond Street hospitals. In 1994, he moved to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, oneof the largest units of its type in the UK,as Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist/Diabetologist and Head of Department/Clinical Lead. He was Secretary of the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) 2002-2008 and is currently a Council member of the Royal College ofPaediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).
