⭐ Received a black and white copy of the book. When realized other students had color copies (same isbn numbers), I returned for a replacement. The second copy was also black and white. ⭐ I have only just begun to read and take notes using this book, but from what I have read so far it is very comprehensive and has very detailed figures. I attend a prestigious pharmacy school and bought this to supplement course materials. I chose this particular book because it is the most recent edition, and because several of my professors had referenced earlier editions to help compose some of their lecture materials. ⭐ The content in this book is awesome. No complaints there however this comes as an unbound book that you need to put into a binder. All 900 pages. The pages tear really easily (my cat stepped on one and it ripped) and so you really have to baby the pages to keep them intact. Also, it did not come with a CD so I’m unsure of how to access the videos/movies that are referenced throughout or if this is even possible. That is disappointing too. Would give 2.5 stars because of the usability of this. ⭐ Janeway has the best figures and charts of any immunology textbook. ⭐ This is THE BEST available textbook for learning immunology; clear explanations, integrative discussion of the topics, and the authors know how to tell you a story in every chapter, so they begin with the principles and then go into the details. Absolutely recommended!!! ⭐ Good for studying for coursework, but otherwise wayyy to detailed to keep around after the class. A better choice for lifetime reference isVeterinary Immunology: Principles and Practice by Michael J. Day. I bought both to study veterinary immuno and sold Janeway’s after the class ended. ⭐ Excellent textbook for studying basic immunology for the ambitious undergraduate student, normal graduate student, and those who want to brush up on their (ahem) incomplete knowledge. Nice cartoon schematics. ⭐ I got the kindle version and have enjoyed using it for my class. No problems at my end. ⭐ It works well on my online version. I use it through kindle. ⭐ Interesting subject and great leader in the field of immunology.
