Reviews from Amazon users, collected at the time the book is getting published. It can be related to shiping or paper quality instead of the book content:

⭐ This book is a great resource for the MS3 psychiatry clerkship, especially for people who learn from trial and error of questions. Topics were repeated in the answer explanations throughout the book making it easy to learn high yield topics. There are several items covered in this book that weren’t touched on in the shelf examination (such as the different types of psych testing and the cultural delusions), though I still enjoyed studying from this resource and found it useful for the examination.

⭐ It’s a good resource, but I feel there were too many questions that were irrelevant to the shelf. I don’t think knowing percentages or the specifics of treatment helped me at all. There were also a few, not many, questions where the explainations in the back of the book did not line up will with the question. Be it using weeks not months, or talking about specific drugs that were not listed as answer choices. Overall, it was worth it to get this book

⭐ Great supplement to UWorld to prepare for the shelf exam. I don’t see how people get by without this. It does have some material in it that is neither applicable to the shelf or Step 2 (like the names of the various tests) but overall is really helpful. UWorld just doesn’t have enough material to adequately prepare you for the shelf exam.

⭐ I got this book about 10 days before my psych shelf as a third year medical student. These questions were more spot on than UWorld and I’m really glad to have gone through these questions along with First Aid Psychiatry Clerkship. While some topics were not as high yield on my shelf exam, I believe this book was critical in helping me grasp main concepts allowing me to honor my shelf 🙂

⭐ I did many but not all of these to prepare for my Shelf and scored 96. Definitely recommend UWorld and this resource too.

⭐ Great questions for the nbme shelf. helped me honor and im typically a mediocre test taker

⭐ Rental textbooks that are entirely based on practice questions should have no indication of the correct answer. The answer choices were erased but still visible.

⭐ The Book has concise information for what you need to know for the exam and helpful knowledge in general psychiatry and mental health.

⭐ Not a bad resource, but not the best either. Helps solidify the material but many of the questions are not shelf related. Combine this with uworld and you will certainly pass the shelf – but do not expect to be 90th% ++

⭐ Must use for Psychiatry clerkship along with First Aid for Psychiatry. You will ace the shelf with these two books alone. This book covers some things that First Aid doesn’t.
