User’s Reviews

Editorial Reviews: Review “Mayo Clinic Neurology Board Review is a must-have for every Neurology Resident preparing for the Neurology Board Examination and, in addition, is a wonderful resource for the Neurologist as a comprehensive authoritative reference on neurology. There is absolutely nothing missing from this comprehensive text. This book is a treasure.” –Karen Roos, John and Nancy Nelson Professor of Neurology, Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN “This text is an essential tool for trainees of neurology and psychiatry. I am especially impressed with the clarity and thoroughness of the writing. The chapter on cerebrovascular anatomy and physiology is particularly clear and concise. This information will serve neurology residents and other stroke providers with a strong visual memory of structures and a solid understanding of function as related to patient care.” –Leslie Morrison, Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics, UNM School of Medicine and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, UNM Health Sciences Center, Albuquerque, NM”Editors Flemming and Jones have created the comprehensive basic science resource for those taking the Neurology board exam. Easily digestible (yet thorough) reviews of anatomy, physiology, the physics underlying neurological tests, and clinical psychiatry enable efficient learning.” –Shannon M. Kilgore, MD, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Neurology & Neurological Sciences, Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford, CA “Striking the perfect balance between comprehensive and concise, this book is a must-have for Neurology Board preparation. No other neurology review is so logically organized, well-written, or supplemented with such illustrative figures. Whether testing for the first time or recertifying, look no further: the Mayo Clinic Neurology Board Review will be an invaluable resource.” –Jeffrey McClean II, MD, Assistant Professor of Neurology, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD About the Author Kelly D. Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐A must read for neurology board prep, covering all necessary clinical topics in a concise and very effective way. Included questions are not enough though and need to be supplemented with other q banks.

⭐Too much information, too long. Authors writing about personal research interests is not helpful.

⭐I used this book to prepare for my 10 year MOC. While there is more detail than necessary for the MOC, I would recommend it for the first Neurology Board Certification Exam. The book is very long, and will take time to read…because there is a lot to cover! But it is clear and I think that is most important to gain a conceptual understanding of the topics. I highly recommend this book, but you should plan to start studying well in advance so all the topics can be appropriately covered.

⭐This is a great book in my opinion for junior neurology residents as it is enough specialized and covers all topics. Well divided chapters and lots of tables that are very practical. Too detailed for internal med residents or family doctors.

⭐Good book, prefer layout of older edition however.
