It may also be of use to basic scientists involved in neuroscience research and also to general histopathology trainees and residents. ​ About the Author David Hilton is an experienced diagnostic neuropathologist working in one of the UK’s largest hospitals in Plymouth and is a fellow of both the UK Royal College of Pathologists and Physicians. His practice covers all areas of adult neuropathology, including neurosurgical pathology, autopsy work, and neuromuscular disease (including the undertaking of muscle and nerve biopsies on patients). After completing post-graduation (MD, taught) in Pathology from Mumbai University (2001) he worked briefly as a Senior Registrar in the Department of Neuropathology at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, India, before coming to the UK to undertake specialist Neuropathology training in Leeds. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2008. His areas of interest include CNS tumours, neuromuscular disorders and ophthalmic pathology.
