Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I needed to buy this BOOK “DIABETES FOR DUMMIES published in 2015. I had some questions that I needed to have answered on how to get rid of diabetes and stay safe from it.This new book has added information. I am now at (5.5 A1c) that is considered normal in America. But I still worry about wanting to stay at that level. THIS BOOK IS NUMBER ONE TO BUY. It covers everything you NEED TO LEARN to GET RID OF BEING DIABETIC. This book is more technical with a sense of humor. BUT, IT HAS THE NEW INFORMATION I NEEDED TO LEARN ON WHAT FOODS ARE BEST FOR ME. I am a retired College Professor of Psychology. I did a search on different writers on Diabetes. Doctor Alan L. Rubin, MD is the best writer on this subject of Diabetes for people searching on how to lower their DIABETES AND GET RID OF IT. YES, YOU CAN GET RID OF DIABETES. I was acting like a dummie and not wanting to believe that I was really diabetic for many years. It was just a few years ago that I decided to to get serious to get rid of my Diabetes problem. I was A1c 7.0, 6.8, 6.5, 6.3, 6.0, 5.8, 5.6 and then this past December 2020….. I got A1c 5.5. that is considered normal. But it can go even lower if I want to go down more to a 5.0 level or a 4 level. I have not made it clear for you all about what I am talking about the A1c levels because if you are diabetic you do know what I am talking about. Enjoy your new book.

⭐When you get diagnosed as a diabetic; this is your first stop: down load it to your Cell Phone. Read it, it will save your life and your quality of life. From zero to one hundred in a few days of reading. You can get your diabetes under control and get your life back. Dr. Rubin, thank you for saving this Registered Nurse’s life.

⭐After my doc said, “You’ve got diabetes,” It was a real life-changing diagnosis. I knew NOTHING about it. I’d had pretty good luck with other Dummies books, so this was my go-to. It was incredibly instructive, and used plain language I could understand.*Note: There are now Dummies books for both Type I and Type 2 diabetes. I picked up the type 2 book, and learned some more, without having to sort out what was for type I and what was for type 2.

⭐I did read lots of good info but also lots of repetition. I personally didn’t like this book and felt it was 200 pages too long. Information confusing whether Type 1 or 2 being referenced. Having a spouse newly diagnosed with diabetes, I wanted lists of things Not To Eat and you don’t get that. When I finally got to recipes, I saw $$$$. Long, expensive, time consuming with ingredients most people don’t keep on hand and many had HONEY, MAPLE SYRUP, BOURBON, etc. But one good thing I learned is not waste money on the Diabetes Cookbook for dummies.

⭐This is a great book for learning about diabetes if you are a friend or relative of a diabetic. It would also be great for anyone who has been diagnosed with diabetes. I have several friends who have diabetes and the treatment of this disease has changed to some degree over the years, I bought this book so I could learn more about more modern meds and blood tests and treatment for diabetes. It really is a good book. 🙂

⭐This is a really good resource for someone who is beginning their journey with diabetes. There’s a lot of information, but it’s explained in a way that people can understand. You can pick an choose through different chapters what’s most important for you to learn.

⭐It’s the basics and valuable, and the updates help compared to 2 editions ago. The organization is up to the Dummies” usual hight standards. Don’t expect more advanced discussion and info, which can be hard to obtain – such as how fast a certain food or type of food can affect your numbers. Every diabetic might need this, especially if (1) it’s a new diagnosis or (2) you haven’t reviewed or updated yourself in at least 4-5 years.

⭐This is the second edition of this book I have purchased. It is a great reference for those who know nothing about diabetes or a refresher for those who just need to be reminded about the intricacies of the condition. The updated version gives new information about new drugs, research and treatments.

⭐I have bought Dr Jason Fungs book but decided to buy this one. Dr Fungs book is too complicated to understand. This book on the other hand is brilliant to read and understand. It explains everything so much better. A must to read for anyone who does not understand Type 2 Diabetes. Well worth buying. More British Drs need to realise what they are taught at medical school is wrong. Dr Jason Fung says this in his videos. I have had problems in the past as my Diabetic nurse and Dr will not talk to each other and so disagree with each other. This is a genuine review and not a fake one. PC. 07. 10. 2020.

⭐Was easy language. Very easy to understand medical facts put in easy language as well as gobbledygook. A lot of American information, which is not followed in this country uk. But still found the book helpful in understanding diabetes better than originally. Worth buying to help understanding.

⭐Ideal for learning about my medical condition.

⭐As a very close relative of mine had been diagnosed with Diabetes type 2, it made sense to find out more about it. Granted I could get free info from the net but I wanted a book where I could read whenever I wanted. I chose this as I read quite a few reviews and this one seem to stood out. Currently going through the book but so far so good!

⭐Good read
