About the Author Filip M. Vanhoenacker is a staff radiologist at the Department of Radiology at General Hospital Sint-Maarten Mechelen, and a Guest Professor of Musculoskeletal Radiology at the University of Antwerp’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and Ghent University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Filip Vanhoenacker graduated as a medical doctor from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, in 1987. He is a board certified radiologist with extensive international experience, and has co-authored or authored more than 370 peer-reviewed scientific papers, 5 books and 82 book chapters. He is an active member of several national and international societies, including the ESR. He also served as secretary and president of the European Society of MusculoSkeletal Radiology (ESSR).Mario Maas is full Professor of Radiology with special focus on Musculo SKeletal radiology. He is section leader of MSK radiology at the department of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, Amsterdam University Medical Centers, location AMC, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He is a clinical radiologist focused on sports injury especially in high performing athletes, focused on detailed clinical relevant imaging assessment of small joints, especially foot, ankle, elbow and wrist. Close collaboration with clinical partners is key. He is appointed Preferred Partner of the National Olympic Committee.He is director of Amsterdam Movement Sciences (AMS), one of eight research institutes of Amsterdam UMC, focusing on a wide range of movement and related research.Mario Maas is co-founder of ACES, Academic Center for Evidence based Sports medicine, an athlete centered institute in which tailored clinical care is combined with front running research on sports specific imaging. The center is acknowledged IOC accreditation. He focusses on mentorship and guidance of young professionals in research, education and clinical care.Jan L.M.A. Gielen is Vice Chairman of the Department of Radiology, and founded and is the Medical Coordinator of the Department of Sports Medicine at the University Hospital of Antwerp, Belgium. The Department of Sports Medicine provides medical and diagnostic services as well as sports science services to the Australian Institute of Sport.He is an Associate Professor at the University of Antwerp’s Faculty of Medicine, Health Sciences and Biomedical Sciences and is involved in radiology, sports medicine, rehabilitation and occupational medicine. He is a Guest Professor at the Victor Babes University of Timisoara, Romania.Jan Gielen graduated as a medical doctor from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, in 1984. He has been a board certified radiologist since 1988, and has extensive international experience. He has also been board certified in insurance medicine and a medico-legal expert since 2009. He has co-authored or authored more than 165 peer-reviewed scientific papers, 4 books and 38 book chapters.
