⭐I ordered this to supplement first aid step 3 and have not been disappointed. I learn by reading cases, diagnostic workups and treatments and that’s exactly how this review series is formatted. Kaplan really gets it that active problem based learning is the most effective method for studying… Especially for a test that emphasizes clinical management more so than random questions about the Krebs cycle or chromosome translocations or specific tumor markers.What’s worked well for me: bringing first aid for step 3 to study during MSIV rotation downtime, then make notes of areas I’m weak on, then going home and studying those cases in Kaplan. I also use and highly recommend onlinemeded , a series of free video lecture reviews. Best of luck to all you folks on our final board exam! Finish Strong and keep trucking!

⭐I bought this 2-book set from Kaplan Education Publishing, described as having 980 pages. I only received 1 of the books with 474 pages instead of the two books. The book is a cheap photocopied version on white typing paper with grey faded letters, poorly defined columns and diagrams. It feels like a fake copy of a book you buy at the Asian market for 5 DLLs. I went to Kaplan Education Publishing website and discussed the issue with the online chat and was cut off three times when I mentioned if the book is not original. I actually don’t know if this is an original book and Kaplan produces it in this copy format or if someone has stolen Kaplan identity and is doing piracy of their book, either way, it is way overpriced for its quality, even at $85 sale price. It should cost $10 with this quality and material. I have complained that I only received one of the two books and got no reply. Amazon will hopefully refund upon my return of the book which I will send back immediately.

⭐Overall, this book has minimal information to help you with the multiple choice portion of the exam, and instead focuses on what “next steps” to take for each condition. For example if a patient has anemia, this book will list iron studies, CBC, etc, but will not go into more details of the different types of anemia, just give you a brief overview of what the patient is presenting with.It has less clinical information than Master the Boards, so if you’re looking for help studying, this book isn’t worth the money.

⭐The books are very comprehensive. Cover everything for the the cases. After taking the test I feel they were well to the point.

⭐It covers limited subjects but not enough for the exams.

⭐Definitely would recommend this to anyone studying for step3. Case based learning which is all high yield and most of all uptodate with DSM V and other recent updates.

⭐Arrived on time. Updated information and well organized.

⭐Bought this just for the notes. A lot of extra information here. Its good if you have time to read it. More knowledge more power. But not necessary if your focus is to pass exam.

⭐Ordered the set and received 1 of 2 books only. Still have yet to receive the other.
