This book had numerous errors, both typographical and occasionally factual. Each case begins with a quiz and offered differential yet the quiz answer is seldom explained adequately, a frustration even when the answer is right. As someone who specializes in GI radiology for two decades, I’m confident some of the answers are wrong, yet since no explanations are given as to why A, for example, is chosen over B (C, and D), I was frequently left with the confusion: Is there REALLY some new thought on this topic I’m unaware of? Are the authors simply wrong? Is the putative answer simply a typo, since the book has many typos?

This critique is not of the entire series–I think the NM book, which I bought at the same time, is much better, for example–but only of this GI case review. And yes, I know I’m not being specific; this is my recollection of a book I read a few months back in response to an Amazon.com email requesting a review. I have the book marked up, but really can’t take the time to point out errors in detail. Sorry.
