Description:

Neurology Board Review: Questions and Answers is an easy to read guide that was created to prepare the reader for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) certification and recertification exams. It was specifically designed to cover the topics listed in the ABPN content outline, which should be used in tandem with this book, and includes questions about recent practice parameters published by the American Academy of Neurology. Formatted in a user-friendly way, utilizing case-based and multiple choice questions, this book promotes absorption of key facts and neurological concepts quickly and on-the-go.

This authoritative resource provides an in-depth look at basic neuroscience, critical care and trauma, cerebrovascular diseases, movement disorders, neuromuscular diseases, psychiatry, behavioral neurology, clinical neurophysiology, headaches and pain, metabolic disorders, pediatric neurology and sleep disorders. With over 1,000 questions, Neurology Board Review illustrates key concepts using short and pithy explanations; including informative illustrations, descriptive tables, and a list of further readings at the end of each section. This is the perfect study aid for residents and neurologists alike.

Amy McGregor, MD was born in St. Louis, Mo. She attended college at Haverford College in Philadelphia. She went to medical school at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis. She did her pediatric residency, pediatric neurology residency, and clinical neurophysiology fellowship at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She is currently a pediatric epileptologist in Memphis, TN at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. User’s Review:

“This well-written, comprehensive question-based review of high yield topics for the ABPN and RITE exams is invaluable for neurology and child neurology residents. Over 29 chapters Dr. McGregor covers all of the topics that a physician will encounter on the ABPN board certification exam. The depth of the questions mimics what will be encountered with the actual test. This will serve as an excellent resource for anyone preparing to take these exams, and allow them to gauge their own state of preparedness.” –James W. Wheless, MD, Professor and Chief of Pediatric Neurology, Le Bonheur Chair in Pediatric Neurology, University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Director, Neuroscience Institute & Le Bonheur Comprehensive Epilepsy Program, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN

I am in the doctoral of chiropractic program and this book has helped me connect a few dots. I love that each question has an explanation as to what is the correct answer and why and why the other options are not also.
