Metabolic, genetic, acquired, traumatic, hemorrhagic, and congenital etiologies have separate chapters in the book. Moyamoya disease, sickle cell, MELAS, Leiden factor V, Protein C and S, Vitamin K Deficiency, antithrombin 3, and other etiologies are all covered.

IV thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, and other direct and indirect revascularization are evaluated with complications and prognosis are compared with an explanation of outcomes.
