I bought this book for boards prep, and I recommend it. I never did very well on the ABSITE (highest 67 %ile, lowest 7%), and was apprehensive about being prepared for the written exam. I did truelearn, which I think is just okay- it goes into the weeds often, and some of the question explanations are not great, I think a lot of the questions are written by residents themselves. This year, I did SESAP and this book. I think that they overlap nicely and reinforce the important things. This book’s questions are very hard, but the explanations are thorough and useful. I also liked that this book was just published this year and the sources cited are fairly current. I give four stars because I don’t think any one resource is a silver bullet, but after using this book and SESAP I did well above the average score this year, and I went into the exam feeling pretty confident.

Hands down, the best. De Virgilio doesnt just test your ability to recall random facts, as many question banks do. These questions go a step further and test multiple aspects of your knowledge. They make you think instead of just react to ‘buzz words’. Highly recommend. Also, there is a unique online access so you can do questions on the go, at work, or in between cases.
