⭐ As a former OR Nurse, and now I am an international healthcare industry consultant, I purchased this book to remain current on new procedures, instrumentation, equipment, etc. For one thing, this book is better than my old bible (Alexander’s). It is more complete on the “need to know” items. But for me, I will be able to use it for several applications: First, to estimate costs per procedure (owing to instrumentation, time, equipment, staff, prep, medications, etc.) the only improvement I could recommend, Maxine, is put the CPT codes next to the name of the procedure. Second, I consult internationally on medical tourism efficiency, quality, safety, waste mitigation, process and risk-based thinking. this book can be used as a go-to reference for each procedure – both the old ones I know like I know my name, and new ones that became the standard of care after I left the OR. I can also help the medical tourism hospitals create pricing formulas with the information on each procedure.Maxine, you have my deepest respect and appreciation. This one’s a keeper!

⭐ This book is a must for Surgical Techs or Operating Room Nurses. As a student, I referred to this book to review cases throughout the day for supplies needed, positioning and what is expected. Even after graduation from the program I still use this book to brush up on procedures I haven’t preformed in awhile. Great learning tool.

⭐ Honestly barely used this book for clinical preps while in school for a Surg Tech. It was missing a lot of surgeries, and didn’t have enough detail that I needed.

⭐ I Love this pocket guide. Being in the medical field in the O.R. it’s much needed for new or experienced staff. As an educator, it helps me help those I educate to know a procedure and what’s needed for it. It’s what I call my work bible. I will say to anyone who’s deciding if they should get it… GET IT!!! U will be grateful u listened!

⭐ This Pocket Guide to the OR is a resource to have for current staff and future staff. Sometimes we don’t see some cases but once a year or even longer, so it’s a nice book to get out to review. And for training new staff, it’s invaluable.

⭐ How to rate a textbook? My niece needed this book for a surgical technology program she is doing. It arrived in great condition and on time. The only thing she’d like to note is that it’s not really “pocket sized”, it’s about three inches thick.

⭐ Great informational book for surgical cases. Extremely detailed yet quick to navigate. I’m very glad that I made this purchase.

⭐ This book is a bit bigger than ‘pocket’ size, lol. Well, in a lab coat, the outer waist level pockets would work but it’s not SMALL. It’s a paperback & the print is kinda small. I am of the age where I am starting to not only appreciate but LOVE larger print. There are a ton of surgical procedures in here and I know this book is going to help me tremendously as an entry level Surgical Technologist. There is no question about the value of the information.I do think it’s a little pricey but all in all I’m very satisfied. I’ll be packing this thing with me every day until I get into the groove of being a new Tech. I did the same thing when I got my Nuclear Medicine degree and license. It’s ALWAYS a good idea to have reference manuals in your new position to help you along.SUMMARY: A little too big to be a called a pocket guide, full of information, print is kinda small, but it’s a good tool. It could be a few bucks cheaper and I’d give it 5 stars.

⭐ Worked great for school !

⭐ fast shipping!!! Great book, if you work in the operating room and need information on surgeries that you are not familiar with, this is the book to have, even if you have been in the OR for a long time, the information in this book helps with everything, from what instruments are needed down to the position of the patinet.
