⭐This book, in my opinion, is a true masterpiece. How the authors manage to stay abreast of contemporary research, and condense it into such a concise and insightful presentation is staggering to me.It *is* a complicated book, designed for a medical student or advanced/graduate biology audience, so the reviews complaining about the level of presentation should be taken with a grain of salt. That said, the complexity of the underlying material is presented brilliantly, and after reading through a section, it is remarkable how the authors make such material seem obvious. As I noted, the authors clearly have spent a lot of time and effort in the literature, and condensing this down into the material of the book. So you will not run into (as I have not infrequently seen) books reflecting material that has been invalidated or modified due to research.Each of the main physiological organ systems are covered in depth, along with a very well done (if not extensive) summary of cellular physiology, metabolism, and biology. Topics are broken down into manageable pieces, and key points are emphasized. This “building block” approach to presentation is one of the reasons it ultimately seems so clear and obvious. The material heavily utilizes well-thought out graphics and summary tables, which clearly emphasize point. The graphics in my mind are a particularly strong point of this book.I have yet to investigate the online support for the book, so I cannot provide a review with respect to this aspect.Finally, I’d like to point out in these days of grotesque textbook price inflation (currently multiples of the inflation rate) and monopolistic abuses by textbook companies, this book is a remarkable deal. It is a very large-scope textbook, but is a truly amazing deal for less than $100. Standard textbooks of far inferior nature, but of similar ambition, will run $200-300 or more.This probably sounds like an obsequious review or a review by an insider, but this is one of my favorite books, and I cannot recommend it high enough. If you need one physiology book, this one is it.

⭐Without a doubt the best Physiology textbook ever written. Ask any physiology professor, and they will point to this book as their go-to reference before giving a lecture. No hand-wavy explanations. No glossing over important details. No ambiguous wording. Numerous high quality figures. The price is also extraordinarily low for a textbook of this size and quality.My only criticism applies to the Kindle version, which, while excellent in its own right, does not contain actual page numbers. This is more an indictment of universities, which still have not embraced the Kindle and insist on issuing reading assignments in terms of page numbers rather than chapter and heading.

⭐This book is phenomenal, it is very big but it can be read very fast because it delineate and explains the material in a way superior to other books.(Ganong). IT IS THE BASIC STUFF, it is a bit detailed, but still completely relevant to under grad and post grad level corses. The science does not change depending on you class. People say that this book is detailed advanced mechanisms LIES its many ways to look at the same thing in different perspective and supports a global understanding.If you are taking a basic community college course, that will not murder you in the exams, you can find a smaller book.If you are gonna be a doctor or a health care professional, this book will be a goldmine.Has good charts and pictures too

⭐I just purchased the book for review and I find it very informative and straight to the point. The explanation of the different principles are easy to understand and it is helping a lot in answering the step 1 practice questions. I’m about to start the 2nd year in medical school so I got this book to review medical physiology to keep the info fresh before taking the step 1 exam.

⭐Helped me in my 1st year in medical school! It was used as the reference for my classes and the color diagrams helped tremendously more than the black and white ppt we got in class.

⭐I stand very impressed with this textbook- it is so well written and includes every detail you need to know to master medical phys yet does not over complicate the explanations or presentations. The illustrations are superb and the text just seems to flow in a was that is actually enjoyable to read. In graduate school, I was skeptical to get anything other than Guyton, but I am very glad I chose to learn from Boron. Another plus is that is it easily searchable for information when trying to understand the “bigger” picture such as pathology of certain systems or a reference back to normal values. I do believe this is now the gold standard for medical phys and I will stand in full support of this book.

⭐A brilliant book, easy to understand and follow. Very detailed but also very well organised and well explained. It includes a lot of useful and relevant information and provides extensive coverage of physiology in a concise way. It includes everything essential and is good for both beginners and also when you advance to higher levels of study. The book is good for all years of a degree and covers a large amount of what you need between these years in the correct level of detail.

⭐Very good book in terms of content, diagrams, and high level of detail suited especially well for my purpose – I am a student studying biomedical science, where a comprehensive and interlinking understanding on a small to large scale is important. However, I gave only 4 stars because I downloaded the Kindle edition. Since I use this book for further reading and for references, and these are referenced by my lecturers in pages (referring to the hard copies of the books). The “pages” on Kindles are referred to as Locations and are completely unmatched to the pages of the hard copy version. I have looked this up and Kindles books are actually capable of showing page numbers, however, the publisher needs to include them. So this is probably a problem with the publisher and not Amazon itself.Otherwise, useful and great book! For me, the major convenience of not having to carry a hefty book around was slightly tinged by the minor inconvenience of the lack of inclusion of hard copy versions of page numbers

⭐As a physiology student, it gives me all the detail needed plus more. However it is very wordy and round-about… the diagrams are very useful. So far, best reference physiology book on the market for me.

⭐Absolutely beautiful book.. I had proclaimed guyton the ultimate physiology text..until I purchased this! Excellent coverage of all aspects of physiology.. As well as clinical concepts. Moreover this text goes more into the biochemical side as well, which makes it ideal for biology/ science students as well as medics.

⭐This truly is a whale of a book….. I read that in someone else’s review, but it really goes over physiology. It seems to take it a step further in explanation.
