Description
This concise, illuminating guide takes us on a comprehensive tour of our bodies, explaining how they work and why they work that way, from the basic unit of the cell, through the tissues and organs that make up the body’s systems, to how these systems work together to form a complete human being, from evolution, genetics, and conception through to disease, death, and how technology will transform the body of the future.
Reviews
This is an excellent review of the anatomy, physiology, mechanics, transplantation, and surgery of the meniscus, a key to meniscus lateral/medial function. The MRI, radiographic, and arthroscopic approaches to pathology involving the knee are examined. Bone allografts, cartilage regrowth, stem cells transplantations are looked at carefully. Mesenchymal cells, osteoblasts, osteocytes, adipocytes, and pluripotent cells and their biology are studied and their roles in orthopedic surgery are elucidated. I recommend this book to surgeons, interns, residents, engineers, and students in Orthopedic Surgery.
