Reviews

If you’re looking for something to help you figure out the differences between the many, many cardiac or nervous system procedures, for example, this book is worthless to you. The CPT manual itself has just as much information, minus the detail of the anatomy drawings, which you can get in any entry level anatomy book. I need something that actually explains what the various CPT codes mean, since distinguishes between the various cardiac or spinal surgeries is extremely difficult. I’m looking for something that will help me decipher the surgical report I’m reading, so I can bill correctly. The title of the book, Surgical Anatomy for CPT coding, sounds like it would actually described the surgical procedures and how to apply knowledge of anatomy, but it’s more like drawings of anatomy, followed by a list of codes, most without any explanation at all. There are some guidelines, but there are more guidelines in the actual CPT manual itself. If anyone reading this has any suggestions, I would love them.
