Description

The indispensable guide to all aspects of clinical care, the Oxford Handbook of Endocrinology and Diabetes has been fully revised for its third edition. Concise, practical, and packed with vital information and invaluable hands-on advice, this is the must have resource for all those managing patients with endocrine and diabetic disorders.

Reviews

Great book for rapid review of anatomy (one can go through the entire book within a week or even less), has a decent balance of diagrams (identify the structure tasks), and theoretical questions. Overall it is based on Socratic method of teaching / recall through asking questions. This might be a bit difficult / unusual for some people, but in my case it helps direct the review very well. Very good selection of material, very readable, with numerous clinical correlations (Dr. Blackbourne one of the authors of this books is also the author of Surgical Recall of the same book series). Contains some typos, but not too bad in that sense, and not affecting the meaning / correct answers in most cases. The book is a bit old, i.e. new edition did not come out in awhile, but it is a good source for review of anatomy. I never used it for boards, only for the review before TAing anatomy, and before the return to clerkships after years in the lab, so I cannot comment on its usefulness for the boards, but it is a great book otherwise.
