Description

Written to help haematology and general medical trainees evaluate their own knowledge, and particularly useful for those preparing for the Part 1 examination of the Royal College of Pathologists. This exam-centered book will also be of use to core medical trainees preparing for the examinations of the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and to haematology and general medicine trainees in other countries where methods of examination are similar.

Reviews

I do not ordinarily write negative reviews but I feel compelled to because this book is giving me palpitations. Positives are the guidelines, scoring systems and recent evidence that is included in the answers.
Negatives…well the questions seemed to be written to intentionally catch you out. And not through a lack of knowledge but through poor phrasing. It is incredibly frustrating and I think of the four MCQ books I have revised from for the forthcoming FFICM, these questions are the most ‘unfair’ by leagues. I still think it is a useful book because of the informative answers, however I hope the authors take heed from these reviews and greatly improve the format of the next edition.
