Description

During recent years, FAF (Fundus autofluorescence) imaging has been shown to be useful in various retinal diseases with regard to diagnostics, documentation of changes, identification of disease progression, and monitoring of novel therapies. Hereby, FAF imaging gives additional information above and beyond conventional imaging tools. This unique atlas provides a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of FAF imaging in retinal diseases. It also compares FAF findings with other imaging techniques such asfundus photograph, fluorescein- and ICG angiography as well as optical coherence tomography.General ophthalmologists as well as retina specialists will find this a very useful guide which illustrates typical FAF characteristics of various retinal diseases.

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Very informative

⭐I bought this book to aid in my managemnet, Unfortunately this is a copy of the original book all pictures are black and white !! Look for another respectful book and author..

⭐I thought that this book was full of interesting information which will help many-an-ophthalmologist become more proficient in this technology. It could use some better editing. Thus, four rather than five stars. Most would pick up the fact that it appears that some pictures are not correctly linked to the “figure” explanatory text (see the choroidal hemangioma and the malignant melanoma pages) or the use of polysaturated fats when I believe the author of that section meant polyunsaturated fats when discussing the biochemistry of the fluourescent compounds behind this technology.I also believe that explanatory text of the pathological or healthy eyes states in each chapter should be juxtaposed to the important images, and not several or more pages away from the entity in question. However, by and large, this is an excellent little textbook. With this and other new textbooks on imaging, “ology” in ophthalmology is making leaps and bounds.Bottom line, if you are intersted in this topic…get this book.
