Description
The second edition of Eye Emergencies offers an excellent up-to-date resource for anyone whose work involves dealing with acute ophthalmic presentations. The authors have used the term ‘practitioner’ to include doctors, ophthalmic nurses, emergency care practitioners, nurse practitioners, nurses in accident and emergency departments and ‘walk in’ centres and first aid workers in remote locations such as oil rigs or working in the armed services. Aimed at readers with differing levels of confidence, skills and knowledge, Eye Emergencies will help all practitioners develop greater competence in ophthalmic emergency practice. The system of flag symbols in the margins, highlighting the diagnostic significance of symptoms described in a particular context, makes this book particularly useful for quick reference.Contents include:Anatomy and physiology of the eyeInitial assessmentDifferential diagnosis of emergency eye conditionsUrgent eye conditionsNon-urgent eye conditionsDrugs commonly used for acute eye conditionsOphthalmic painConcluding notesOphthalmic proceduresGlossary of ophthalmic termsIndex

⭐As a new practitioner eyes still scare me! This book is brilliant for anyone who fears eyes. The book is simple breaking down each condition and red flags associated with it. Bright coloured Pictures and diagrams throughout the book. I have found this extremely helpful and recommend it to anyone who is interest in eyes or seeing eye conditions/problems.
⭐This book is great for information to get started in Ophthalmology. It’s not overly complex and confusing like some books, it’s easy to understand and has great pictures in it. I’ve already recommend it to some colleagues.
⭐Very good book for ophthalmologic practitioners
