Description

Neuroanatomy: Draw It to Know It, Third Edition teaches neuroanatomy in a purely kinesthetic way. In using this book, the reader draws each neuroanatomical pathway and structure, and in the process, creates memorable and reproducible schematics for the various learning points in Neuroanatomy in a hands-on, enjoyable and highly effective manner. In addition to this unique method, Neuroanatomy: Draw It to Know It also provides a remarkable repository of reference materials, including numerous anatomic and radiographic brain images and illustrations from many other classic texts to enhance the learning experience. In the third edition of this now-classic text, the author completely reorganized the book based on user-feedback, taking a more intuitive and easy-to-use approach. For the first time, the illustrations are in full color. No other text in neuroanatomy engages the reader in as direct a manner as this book and none covers the advanced level of detail found while retaining the simplistic approach to the learning which has become the cornerstone of the text. Neuroanatomy: Draw It to Know It is singular in its ability to engage and instruct without overwhelming any level of neuroanatomy student.

Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐This is great material for self-study. Replicating diagrams not only helps one remember the anatomy but allows for note taking as well that reinforce its concepts. Its a fun and creative way to learn about neuroanatomy and it clears up the interchangeable terminology. Im not a med student but I do think that this will be a great tool for learning for such students as well.

⭐Was intimidated to buy it has helped me so very much !

⭐It could just be that the neuro department at my med school is whacko, but this book didn’t come close to the detail we were expected to know. I would say, this is great for people who want a gentle intro to neuroanatomy, but probably not sufficient for med school use. However, I will say that the drawings and explanations were very clear and concise, easy to understand and follow, just not to the detail required to satisfy the PhD hounds I am forced to answer to.

⭐came with a “used” label and arrived BRAND NEW. and ON TIME. This is for nursing school, PT/OT school anatomy level. NOT A BASIC LEVEL BOOK. Perfect for me 🙂 Probably good for med students but I’m not 100% sure..

⭐This book was wonderful! I am a person who learns by writing/drawing to learn and understand the concepts. The author was really thinking about the entry-level neuro student when he put this book together. It helped me to draw connections to the systems in the brain, and I still remember a lot of the material when I took the class a year ago.My one critique is that I wish there was more on the embryology of the brain.

⭐Neuroanatomy, a supposedly nightmare for even medical students, was made easier in this book by Dr. Fisch. This is a kind of workbook which makes you draw the complex neuroanatomical structures alongside learning about them with relative ease. I felt this kind of learning lasts longer than the conventional ones. Overall, a very good book.

⭐Great reference for practicing docs, med students, and residents.Clearly written with lots of useful information. Actually drawing the relevant neuroanatomy really reinforces the learning process.I wish I had this book when I was a medical student!

⭐This is one of the best neuroanatomy textbooks I have seen. As a neurologist, I have read multiple neuroanatomy textbooks over the years at various stages in my training. This book has just the right mixture of basic science, direct clinical application and a little scientific trivia. The hands on detailed approach to learning makes it possible that I will actually get through a neuroanatomy textbook and retain what I have read!:) I recommend this book to medical students, residents and practicing clinicians.

⭐Neuroanatomy is a complex subject one which many doctors try to avoid as much as possible! As the book says if you know something you should be able to draw it. this book will help you achieve the mental picturing required to get your brain around neuroanatomy and thus help with clinical decisions. The best I have seen in 30 years of trying to get my head around the subject. Medical, chiropractic and other other related students and post graduate readers most likely to be wowed by this volume.>
