Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I’m a layperson who knew very little about the eye, how it works, and how eye problems are address. I found The Eye Book to be a fabulous introductory overview. It’s well-written, and the illustrations are excellent.I learned a lot, and I plan to ask my optometrist a few reasonably intelligent questions during my next exam.

⭐I actually cannot speak to the merits of the book as a whole. It may be spot on, but I have some doubts. Specifically, on page 459 in discussing Blood Pressure Medications, the author says, “Imagine a hose with water running through it so fast that it’s about to burst”. Now, I get that the author is not likely an engineer or physicist, but perhaps he should consult with one. Last time I checked PRESSURE, not VELOCITY will burst a hose. He goes on to discuss “volume” and “rate” as if they were separate entities. In a static situation the might be (except that rate cannot be static), but volume flow rate is the only relevant issue in his analogy. That whole paragraph is lame. Hopefully it is not representative of the book as a whole.
