Description

Retrospective observational study evaluating the safety and tolerance of performing elective extubations in preterm newborns (GA <32 weeks and/or BW <1500g) during skin-to-skin care (SSC) compared to those performed in an incubator. Findings suggest extubation during SSC is a feasible, safe, and well-tolerated practice with an extubation success rate (80%) comparable to traditional methods, while allowing infants to receive the benefits of SSC.
