Description

This review article proposes a standardized protocol (CDH-POCUS protocol) for the use of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for managing neonates with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). POCUS is presented as a rapid, non-invasive tool to evaluate cardiac function, pulmonary hypertension, lung volumes, splanchnic and renal perfusion, and cerebral health to improve overall patient management and intercept early signs of neurodevelopmental impairment.
