Description

This study prospectively compared the new combined surgical technique of phacoemulsification, intraocular lens implantation, trabeculotomy, and deep sclerectomy (PDSTO) against the standard procedure, phaco-trabeculectomy (PTE), for treating uncontrolled open-angle glaucoma and cataract simultaneously. The results indicated that PDSTO offered a higher success rate and significant IOP reduction compared to PTE.
