Description

This book teaches the fundamental concepts of cardiac electrophysiology with an emphasis on the relationship of basic mechanisms to clinical arrhythmias. Understanding this relationship and the underlying mechanisms of arrhythmogenesis will be valuable to medical students in general and physicians entering the fields of cardiology and clinical electrophysiology, as well as those scientists and clinicians already working in this field.

Reviews

Let me preface this review by saying I used the two Crack the Core volumes as my primary (really my only) source for studying for the core exam and it was plenty comprehensive enough. If you read those books completely and understand them well enough, you will pass the exam with flying colors. The case companion is not quite as useful as the other volumes (and the image quality is kind of touch and go) but the writing style is consistent with the other books, so if you do well his his/her jaded ironic approach to learning the material (I do) then it’s worth it to pick this up, particularly given its price compared to other resources. I will warn you there are some TYPOS THAT END UP PRESENTING MATERIAL BACKWARDS/WRONG. They are few and far between but are there. I kept hoping the elusive Prometheus would create a message board or something to bring these to his/her attention. I hope many of them were fixed for the third edition. Overall I highly recommend the three volume set for Core exam prep.
