Description

Part of the Pediatric Practice series, Pediatric Practice: Gastroenterology is a unique source of clinically relevant information on the diagnosis and treatment of children with gastrointestinal symptoms and disorders. The care of the patient forms the core of this full-color resource, which also provides perspectives on epidemiology, pathophysiology, and diagnosis that every pediatrician, pediatric resident, gastroenterologist, and pediatric nurse needs to know.

Reviews

I was surprised to find this a spiral bound book, but I do like the content. It is laid out in an outline, and provides etiology, occurrence, clinical presentation or manifestation, what you might find on physical exam, diagnostic tests, potential differential diagnoses, treatment and follow-up. Possible complications and education are also considered. I was a little surprised to find the rule of 9’s for burns on an adult rather than a child or infant, as there is some variance there. But as a new PNP or one going in to primary care after being out for a while, as well as an FNP who has a small group of children in their practice, I think it is a great guide.
