Decent lab book but with too many errors in diagrams, which is unacceptable. For the price paid the diagrams should be of better quality.

Description

The field of respiratory care is rapidly changing and growing. New research, therapies, and theories are continually emerging. FOUNDATIONS OF RESPIRATORY CARE, SECOND EDITION is written by leading authorities who have hands on, practical knowledge of the latest innovations and applications for care. Chapters cover timely topics such as the increasing population of elderly patients and the need for managing mass casualty incidents and disasters. Difficult topic areas such as interpretation of ventilator graphics, pharmacology, and hemodynamics are presented in a manner that allows for ease of comprehension and application of the concepts.

Reviews

All in all, the second edition of the Clinical Manual and Review of Transesophageal Echocardiography is a very solid entry into what I would consider the “board preparation” category of echocardiography textbooks. The chapters are concise and well illustrated, and most have an extensive number of questions that allow readers to identify topics that they may need to review in greater depth. With expert contributing authors and sound editing, the second edition of this book would be a valuable addition to the library of anesthesiologists interested in a text covering the breadth of topics related to perioperative echocardiography.–Anesthesia & Analgesia

Description

Female genital plastic surgery has become an increasingly sought-after option for women seeking improvement in genital appearance, relief from discomfort, and increased sexual pleasure. These surgeries are a combination of gynecologic, plastic, and cosmetic procedures. Every year sees a higher demand for physicians properly trained and able to perform them.

Reviews

Sufficiently well written and concise that I read and annotated the entire book within the first week of my immunology course. It’s well-organized and at a proper level of depth; in fact, after comparing the course syllabus and lectures to this textbook, I have completely ignored the course materials in favor of using the text (disclosure: I took an immunology course in undergrad). It is clear that some topics are only superficially covered, but in every instance, a deeper level of detail would be excessive for medical student purposes. This book sets out with a particular goal in mind (discussed in the preface), and it does exactly that — no more, no less. Highly recommended.
