Studying for the internal medicine shelf is difficult. Lets face it, you don’t have much time to do anything outside of the hospital anyways and studying is definitely not on the list of fun things to do. When you’re faced with this situation, you need a resource that is comprehensive, reliable, and quick. THIS IS IT! I used this book throughout the clerkship and read the chapters one by one. A case here and chapter there. Took the test timed then went through the high yield information before the exam. This was perfect. It was a great supplement to my learning and it got me the score I needed to shine! These guys created an amazing book. I wish I knew about this for my other clerkships. Good luck everyone!

Description

This superbly illustrated book covers all aspects of liposuction: anatomy, pathology, biochemistry, preoperative care, equipment, the full range of procedures, complications, postoperative care, outcomes, lipedema, and medical legal aspects. Compared with the successful first edition, the text has been extensively updated and many additional chapters included, with particular attention to recently introduced techniques. While new technology helps to improve results, experience, care, and skill on the part of the cosmetic surgeon are essential if optimal results satisfactory to the patient are to be achieved. The contributors to this book have expended much time and effort to present the cosmetic and plastic surgeon with as much information as possible on the techniques and uses of liposuction for the purposes of cosmetic and non-cosmetic surgery. Liposuction: Principles and Practice will be of value for residents and fellows and for practicing and highly experienced surgeons in plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, general surgery, and other subspecialties.

This book is by far the best I have found for a basic overview of common ortho complaints seen in primary care. Gives case presentation, treatment, not-to-be-missed diagnoses on the differential, and when to refer to ortho. Well written, concise, and the paper quality is excellent. I prefer this book as a general overview, and Essentials of Musculoskeletal Care for what exercises patients should do. If you need to increase your basic knowledge of ortho, get this Lipincott Book.

Lippincotts is my favorite biochemical resource as it is easy to use, and provides a lot of background for those who are not so strong in biochemistry, which is someone like myself. It has the most beautiful diagrams that I am so appreciative for; I am confident that you do not need any additional textbooks to have a grasps on basic biochemistry. This book honestly makes biochemistry very bare-able, which wasn’t the initial case for me.
