If you’re looking for something to help you figure out the differences between the many, many cardiac or nervous system procedures, for example, this book is worthless to you. The CPT manual itself has just as much information, minus the detail of the anatomy drawings, which you can get in any entry level anatomy book. I need something that actually explains what the various CPT codes mean, since distinguishes between the various cardiac or spinal surgeries is extremely difficult. I’m looking for something that will help me decipher the surgical report I’m reading, so I can bill correctly. The title of the book, Surgical Anatomy for CPT coding, sounds like it would actually described the surgical procedures and how to apply knowledge of anatomy, but it’s more like drawings of anatomy, followed by a list of codes, most without any explanation at all. There are some guidelines, but there are more guidelines in the actual CPT manual itself. If anyone reading this has any suggestions, I would love them.

The book is to much concise, figures are good and important and you have to read the important figures and memorize them bcz there’s no context describing them. It has questions & Answers at the end at the end of every chapter. i,m recommending this book for those medical student who are very busy with other things aside from medicine

I used this to help supplement my OCS studying back when I took the test. Now I’ve used it for PT student interns in the clinic and it has been a good resource for them to use. I like how I’m each body part there is information to help with differential diagnosis and talks about different test clusters.

Reviews

Mostly just the same standard Netter drawings available in the atlas with brief descriptions of the relevant anatomy for certain cases. Does not add anything you can’t get from the Netter atlas you used in med school. I would not buy it again.

The content is great, but the book design is horrible. The picture is deceiving, as it looks like a book that would fit in your lab coat pocket. Instead, it’s a tiny spiral bound book that the pages will easily be torn from. A minor redesign of the book would take it from, “just ok”, to “awesome”!

Description

The emerging understanding of age-related neurological disorders suggests that notions of a single causal gene/toxin being responsible is likely incorrect. Neurological disorders probably arise due to a unique intersection of multiple genetic and toxic factors, combined with additional contributions of age, stage of development, immune system actions, and more. This perspective leads to the view that rather than reflecting only one pathway to end-state disease, each is a spectrum disorder, and every individual case is therefore unique.

Description

Presents an overview of neuroanatomy and an outline of a neurological examination in an easy-to-reference, full-color table in the first tabbed section

Reviews

“Beautiful descriptions with wonderful drawings provide clinically relevant material complemented by sophisticated understanding of the underlying anatomy. Of particular value are boxed paragraphs that provide pathological correlates commonly observed by clinicians. If you are a medical student or a neuroscience graduate student, the book will assist you in developing a love of human anatomy, and if you are a clinician, it is a good resource to aid in studying for a re-certification.”
