Description

Diagnostic Pediatric Hematopathology is unique in providing an accurate and up-to-date guide to the diagnosis of benign and malignant hematologic disorders of childhood. The text discusses the development of the hematopoietic and lymphoid systems – and how this affects normal and abnormal findings in children at various ages. Also examined are the morphologic, immunophenotypic, cytogenetic, and molecular genetic characteristics of most pediatric-specific hematologic diseases. This is an excellent reference that ensures accurate diagnoses when evaluating peripheral blood, bone marrow, and lymph nodes of children. The text is written by a team of experienced pediatric hematopathologists and clinical scientists drawn from major academic children’s hospitals in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. It will be a valuable tool in the every day practice of pathologists, pediatric pathologists, and hematopathologists, and a ready educational resource for fellows, pathology residents, medical students, clinical scientists in the field, and pediatric hematologists/oncologists.

Reviews

The text seemed ok, but I didn’t keep the book very long (Kindle version), since the digitized photomicrographs were terrible quality (pixelated and low resolution). So much is based on morphology that this cannot be overlooked. Returned the book.

[PDF] Cerebral Angiography Normal Anatomy and Vascular Pathology 1st Edition (2011) by Gianni Boris Bradac

  • Published: 2011

  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 103.17 MB

Description

Cerebral Angiography is a comprehensive and well-illustrated guide to the diagnostic use of cerebral angiography. The first part of the book depicts in detail the normal appearance of the cerebral vessels on angiographic studies. Sound knowledge of this normal vascular anatomy and clinical function is vital for correct interpretation of the clinical significance of the pathological processes addressed in the second part of the book. The latter include vascular abnormalities, including angiomas, fistulas, and aneurysms; atherosclerotic and non-atherosclerotic stenosis and occlusion of the cerebral vessels; and venous thrombosis. In each case, both typical and atypical appearances are presented. While the emphasis throughout is on the diagnostic value of cerebral angiography, a number of examples of endovascular treatment are also included to highlight the evolving possibilities of therapy and the role of cerebral angiography in treatment selection.

Reviews

“The appearance of this book is timely, particularly as many of those involved in the development of this study are co-authors. … The text is broken up by tables, graphs and occasional colour illustrations, while extensive lists of references supplement each chapter. … this collection of reviews will prove to be a very useful supplementary reference text.” (Mary Sheppard, The Bulletin of the Royal College of Pathologists, Issue 158, April, 2012)

Heavily illustrated and extensively updated to reflect the latest developments in the field, Textbook of Diagnostic Sonography, 7th Edition equips you with an in-depth understanding of general/abdominal and obstetric/gynecologic sonography, the two primary divisions of sonography, as well as vascular sonography and echocardiography. Each chapter includes patient history, normal anatomy (including cross-sectional anatomy), ultrasound techniques, pathology, and related laboratory findings, giving you comprehensive insight drawn from the most current, complete information available.

Reviews

The chapters are somewhat long and drawn out, but it has what you need to know. The most irritating thing is that the words that are describing a picture are sometimes a page or two or three behind the page with the picture. That drives me crazy. I have also found some typos in it. For as expensive as it was, I do not like lots of mistakes. I do like the that it has a workbook that goes along with it.
