The high-yield format means that you’ll spend more time mastering important information and less time searching for it.
Very poor study tool for the ABSITE. I bought it to study as a third year taking the upper level exam. This information might be ok for a first year looking for night time reading material in July-December.

This book is a concise and considerably shorter, still complete version than the full-length, standard radiology textbook. Most of this book evolved from the latest editions of Grainger and Sutton’s Textbooks of Radiology, CT and MRI imaging-Haaga and AIIMS- MAMC-PGI CME series. All the facts in the book are checked multiple number of times to give an accurate and up-to-date content to the students. The material is organized into 4 sections and seven chapters. Section-A includes General Radiology (Chapter 1). Section-B includes, Neuroradiology (Chapter 2), Cardiothoracic Radiology (Chapter 3), Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary System (Chapter 4) and Musculoskeletal Radiology (Chapter 5). Section-C includes Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy (Chapter 6), and Nuclear Scans (Chapter 7) and one special Section-E for Image Based Questions exercise.
Hands down, the best. De Virgilio doesnt just test your ability to recall random facts, as many question banks do. These questions go a step further and test multiple aspects of your knowledge. They make you think instead of just react to ‘buzz words’. Highly recommend. Also, there is a unique online access so you can do questions on the go, at work, or in between cases.

Dr. Greene, the Springer author responsible for the highly successful AJCC product line as well as Minimally Invasive Cancer Management, is also a program director with vast experience in training general surgery residents. His co-author, Gamal Mostafa, is currently a fellow in the program who will be staying on to practice with Dr. Greene at Carolinas Medical Center. Contributors will include residents and fellows in the same training program to offer a unified and consistent approach to the material. The book is designed as a study guide for the annual American Board of Surgery In-Training Exam (ABSITE), given to surgical residents each of their 5 years of residency. While there are a number of competing books on this topic, Drs. Mostafa and Greene believe there is a need for a more innovative product that includes not only concisely written overviews of each topic covered on the exam but also a self-test aspect, which in this case is an accompanying with hundreds of sample questions.

957 multiple-choice, single best answer questions that closely follow the new ABSITE and board style
Now in its fully revised and updated second edition, this comprehensive, how-to text covers all aspects of revision total knee arthroplasty (TKA), complete with step-by-step descriptions of surgical techniques. Divided thematically into three main sections, part I discusses evaluation and diagnosis of the failed TKA, including imaging and updates on incidence and rationale for reoperation. General principles of revision surgery are presented in part II, addressing skin and extensile exposure, component removal, allografts, metaphyseal sleeves and cones, femoral and tibial alignment, and restoration of stability. Part III presents the many special considerations that come into play with revision TKA, including periprosthetic fracture, infection, stiffness and other post-operative complications and complexities. The role of arthrodesis and the economics of revision TKA are also elucidated.

This book serves as a comprehensive guide for integrating point-of-care ultrasound into clinical care. It includes detailed chapters on the use of ultrasound in cardiology, dermatology, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatrics, as well as for the assessment of the abdomen, musculoskeletal system, eyes, and thorax. Over the last decade, the use of diagnostic, point-of-care ultrasound at the bedside has been widely adopted by healthcare professionals in the United States. This technology has spread into many new areas of clinical medicine and more non-radiologists are seeking training and an up-to-date resource on use of the ultrasound machine. This book provides guidance on how to best approach patients with particular problems, practical guidelines on how to operate the machine and choose probes, descriptions and illustrations that depict the patient’s position and structures that are scanned, and the anatomy and pathophysiology of each area. Practical Point-of-Care Medical Ultrasound is a valuable addition to the library of any resident, fellow, physician, or other healthcare provider who uses ultrasound in a clinical setting.
“Dr. Thomas Schwartz has succeeded admirably in writing a psychopharmacology handbook based on advancing levels of knowledge and expertise. But this book does much more: it provides diagnostic screening questions, DSM-5 interviewing criteria, rating scales, and invaluable ‘background’ material on epidemiology, genetics, and neuroanatomy. Furthermore, Dr. Schwartz recognizes that ‘the core skills of psychotherapy are needed’ in psychopharmacology―a critical insight that penetrates to the core of psychiatry’s goals and values.”
Ronald W. Pies MD, clinical professor of psychiatry, Tufts University School of Medicine, professor of psychiatry and lecturer on bioethics and humanities, SUNY Upstate Medical University
