The Neonatal Resuscitation Program has gone though many iterations since its inception. I thought the 7th edition of the textbook was the best version to date. It is easy to follow and memorable, with emphasis on teamwork, and special guidance in managing premature infants and special situations such as diaphragmatic hernia. I especially like the inclusion of LMA airways and a good detailed pictorial of how to insert them.

It covers all topics in blood banking, transfusion medicine, and clinical and laboratory based coagulation. Short, focused chapters, organized by multiple hierarchical headings, are supplemented with up to 10 suggested reading citations. This single reference covers essentially all the topics required to meet the goals and objectives of a major program in transfusion medicine and clinical coagulation.

This text handsomely bridges the overlapping territories of nephrologists, endocrinologists and cardiologists. The editors have collected a top-notch group of experts to provide in-depth lessons in physiology and therapeutics suitable for academics, clinicians and researchers. Topics include the kidney as an endocrine organ (erythropoietin, Vitamin D, PTH, and the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system), as well as the kidney as hormonal target (ADH, ANP/BNP, aldosterone). A valuable detailed resource of highest quality.

Babies of women with diabetes are nearly five times more likely to be stillborn; are almost three times more likely to die in the first three months; and twice as many are born with major congenital malformations. The incidence is high―somewhere between 3 and 7 per cent of all pregnant women in the USA have diabetes―and rising; the condition is often complicated by other risk-factors such as obesity and heart disease. This major book gives a comprehensive review of the epidemiology, science and clinical management of gestation diabetes.
