Granacher, Jr., MD, MBA, is a timely and masterful contribution to the field of brain injury. Dr. Granacher is a professor of psychiatry at the University of Kentucky, and a pioneering, (Harvard) fellowship trained, behavioral neurologist/neuropsychiatrist. He brings his almost 40 years of experience as a practitioner, scientist, teacher, and forensic neuropsychiatrist to this book.

Dr. Grancher succinctly covers the rapidly accumulating data from the civilian and military research, including on vital issues such as suicide, violence, disability, and pain in the brain injured. The book will greatly benefit practicing psychiatrists, neurologists, psychologists, rehab medicine doctors, and others involved in the assessment and management of the brain injured; a must have for forensic psychiatrists and psychologists, and a useful reference for the legal profession.

Chapter 1 provides the reader with an understanding of the pathophysiology of brain injury in a clear manner that will be useful for educating judges and juries.
