Description

In the era of evidence-based medicine, clinicians draw upon a vast resource of research-based evidence to guide their practice. However, finding this information is not always easy, particularly when it is most needed. In the case of respiratory medicine which covers more than 40 individual conditions, the research-based evidence may be limited and/or disproportionate to the incidence of the condition. Guidelines are available but difficult and time consuming to find.

I think this book is one of the best out there as far as review questions go. The questions are sometimes tough and a few are off the wall, but I believe it prepared me well for the Family Medicine shelf exam. This is my first time using the NMS series for any clerkship but, I believe I will buy it for the other specialties as well.

I bought this book about two weeks before my exam as a last part of my review. I was pretty excited about CD version since I just finished Kaplan’s Qbank. I had high hopes and I was disappointed. The software was bad. I had trouble navigating it, the questions repeated themselves over and over. I was super frustrated so I quit the CD and went back to the book. I really liked it. Questions were very good and the explenations were also sufficient. In the end I thought it was a good last minute preparation tool.

I got this book at the beginning of our unit on the GI in MS year 1. We are about halfway through and I honestly haven’t used it that much. Like the rest of the at a glance series it is very concise and a good review after lectures but not as a primary source. If you are looking for a good review before a test then I definitely recommend this book. Not the best in the series by far but still a good review.

I have purchased three of your books: Paediatics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Haematology. I have found the story-telling style and the level of detail contained in the cases to be balanced nicely so that it retains a realism that other case books lack and that reader remains engaged in the outcome of the investigations and the end-point of the case. All in all, these series make for interesting and entertaining reads which ultimately renders them an excellent learning tool.” – Medical Student,Trinity College Dublin https://superdrive.pw/download/-MCfTvWy3Met0m1R5qVn #REF! 5087868 4.85 PDF -MCfTvWy3Met0m1R5qVn haematology-clinical-cases-uncovered-2nd-edition-2009-pdf/ #REF! #REF! #REF!
Hepatology, Clinical Cases Uncovered https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41gaFOpK8RL.jpg 2011 216 Kathryn Nash Hepatology Clinical Cases Uncovered Hepatology is an important specialty with diseases and complications related to viral hepatitis and alcohol being the main reason for seeking specialist advice. On most general medical rotations and on most surgical wards there are patients with hepatological problems. Hepatology: Clinical Cases Uncovered contains clinical presentations with real-life patient cases and outcomes as seen on the wards and in exams, and leads students through a practical approach to diagnosis and management of hepatological disease. Following a question and answer approach, including self-assessment material and a ‘refresher’ section on the basic science, Hepatology: Clinical Cases Uncovered features investigations and the treatment options available for patients presenting with hepatological problems. Difficult concepts are clarified and relevant links are made between pathology and clinical presentation. Hepatology: Clinical Cases Uncovered is ideal for medical students, junior doctors on the Foundation Programme, GP trainees, residents, specialist nurses and nurse practitioners. The book is also an ideal refresher for hepatology or gastroenterology trainees at the beginning of their specialist training programme https://superdrive.pw/download/-MCfTvZfJhD7B7h6Y5RV #REF! 50369572 48.04 PDF -MCfTvZfJhD7B7h6Y5RV hepatology-clinical-cases-uncovered-2011-pdf/ #REF! #REF! #REF!
Nephrology, Clinical Cases Uncovered https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41kPIRasV8L.jpg 2010 268 Menna Clatworthy Nephrology Clinical Cases Uncovered Nephrology is an important speciality; patients with acute or chronic kidney failure are encountered in every medical and surgical speciality, as well as in general practice. On most general medical rotations and on most surgical wards there are patients with renal problems. Renal medicine is taught on rotation during degree courses, and Foundation training programmes frequently include attachments in nephrology, urology, and renal transplantation. Nephrology: Clinical Cases Uncovered contains clinical presentations with real-life patient cases and outcomes as seen on the wards and in exams, and leads students through a practical approach to diagnosis and management of kidney disease. Following a question-answer approach, including self-assessment material and a ‘refresher’ section on the basic science of this clinical area, Nephrology: Clinical Cases Uncovered features investigations and the treatment options available for patients with renal disease, including those requiring renal replacement therapy with dialysis and transplantation. Difficult concepts are clarified, using simple diagrams to explain the link between pathology and clinical presentation. Nephrology: Clinical Cases Uncovered is ideal for medical students, junior doctors on the Foundation Programme, GP trainees, and specialist nurses and nurse practitioners. This book is also a useful refresher for nephrology trainees at the beginning of their specialist training programme. This is a helpful resource for medical students, medicine interns and residents, and nephrology fellows, as well as a reference for teachers of nephrology … I would recommend this for academic nephrologists and nephrology fellows, but mainly for residents and students on nephrology rotations.” (Doody’s, 9 March 2012)
