Ebook Info

  • Published: 2010
  • Number of pages: 64 pages
  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 1.86 MB
  • Authors: K. Tsubota

Description

Special Topic Ophthalmic Research 2010, Vol. 44, No. 3 Many of the diseases leading to blindness such as cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration correlate with the patient’s age. Even genetic disorders such as retinitis pigmentosa can be considered ‘premature aging of the retina’, and further, dry eye or presbyopia, which can dramatically affect quality of vision, are age related. Antiaging research becomes more and more important these days, although the fundamentals are not yet general standard in the clinic; however, reactive oxygen species control seems to be the beginning. In the future, a proper diet, including calorie restriction or antioxidant food factors, antioxidant supplements, exercise as well as drug intervention may play a vital role in the struggle against age-related eye disorders. This volume shows the latest developments and will be a valuable update on the subject of age-related eye diseases not only for ophthalmologists, but also for general physicians.

⭐This is an excellent title with a different take on opththalmic pathology than you would find on most American texts. There are hundreds of high-quality photomicrographs of globes with pathologic findings and surgical artifacts. You would be hard-pressed to find these photos elsewhere. Another highlight of the book is the concept line diagrams explaining pathophysiologic processes that take place in disease and in surgical conditions – another detail you would not find in any other book.A book to own if you are practicing ophthalmic pathology

⭐acquistate con fiducia .Questa e’ stata una delle mie prime esperienze di acquisti on line e mi ha piacevolmente sorpreso

⭐This is a fun book for the budding ophthalmologist. I like the ribbon that keeps your page (all books should have this). My favorite entry is Feb 29 that explains how eyes get their color. It’s well written and does not feel like studying, most of the time. For people who have a good in depth knowledge it can be a little vague but usually gives good pearls of knowledge.
