⭐I’m a layperson who knew very little about the eye, how it works, and how eye problems are address. I found The Eye Book to be a fabulous introductory overview. It’s well-written, and the illustrations are excellent.I learned a lot, and I plan to ask my optometrist a few reasonably intelligent questions during my next exam.

⭐I actually cannot speak to the merits of the book as a whole. It may be spot on, but I have some doubts. Specifically, on page 459 in discussing Blood Pressure Medications, the author says, “Imagine a hose with water running through it so fast that it’s about to burst”. Now, I get that the author is not likely an engineer or physicist, but perhaps he should consult with one. Last time I checked PRESSURE, not VELOCITY will burst a hose. He goes on to discuss “volume” and “rate” as if they were separate entities. In a static situation the might be (except that rate cannot be static), but volume flow rate is the only relevant issue in his analogy. That whole paragraph is lame. Hopefully it is not representative of the book as a whole.

Eye Movements and Visual Cognition (2020) by Raymond M Klein PDF

Ebook Info

  • Published: 2020
  • Number of pages: 378 pages
  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 6.09 MB
  • Authors: Raymond M Klein

Description

This eBook is a volume based on the “Eye Movements and Visual Cognition” Special Issue published in the journal Vision by MDPI and edited by Raymond Klein and Simon Liversedge. The eBook comprises 19 high-quality chapters that are original and topical works by leading academic figures in the field of human vision and visual cognition. In putting together the book, we aimed to provide an informative body of work to stimulate and foster useful intellectual exchange between individuals working on basic theoretical issues as well as on more applied aspects of vision and cognitive science. From the outset, we sought papers that provide concise and astute reviews of topics within this broad field. The present volume includes reviews that are narrative (critiquing and summarizing research on a topic), tutorial (with a focus on methods and findings), empirical (e.g., meta-analytic), and theoretically synthetic. The eBook also features chapters with new empirical content that resolves an undecided issue stemming from an evaluation of the literature. Finally, where possible, we also selected papers that bridge theoretical and applied issues and provide insight into behavior and its neural substrate. All chapters were subject to peer review and went through several rounds of revision prior to acceptance.

⭐I would like to share my experience in reading the Eye Pathology book by Ralph C. Eagle, Jr., MD.You don’t think that the book is boring because when we read the word Pathology, it seems the book will be so difficult or not not nice to read. But this Eye Pathology book is excellent and I am sure that this book will be good for all ophthalmologist clinical, surgical or patahologist.Congratulations for your book Dr. Ralph C. EagleYour brazilian colleagueRomar R. Vallory, MD

⭐Every ophtho resident or attending should have this book. Beautifully written and illustrated. Dr. Eagle has brilliantly condensed a wealth of ophthalmic pathology into a relatively short, concise volume that is, nevertheless, comprehensive and simply a pleasure to read.

⭐GOOD PRODUCT, GOOD SELLER

⭐I am a fan of dr. Eagle work; this book is great contribution to understandingeye pathology, the pictures a worth a million words.

⭐This book is very good and useful for an ophthalmologist,i have learnt a lot of thinks about eye pathology and histology.pictures are wonderful.i advice the book to all ophthalmologits.

⭐Eye Pathology:An Atlas and Text is a superb, comprehensive ocular pathology text book. Its 310 pages pack an encyclopedic wealth of clinical, histopathological, and electron microscopic pictures in a large and easy to view format. The text is well written and includes a helpful list of detailed references at the end of each chapter. The ability to access the book online to download pictures from an image bank and take an interactive test (over 400 questions) on the subject material facilitates learning. Reading the book is analogous to having a 3 star Michelin dinner: each chapter is better than the previous one. Eye Pathology: An Atlas and Text belongs on every ophthalmologist’s and surgical pathologist’s shelf. It is suitable for not only residents in training but also ophthalmologists and pathologists who are perplexed by diagnostic challenges in a clinical setting. Having practiced ophthalmology for over 30 years, I anticipate that this book will become an ocular pathology classic.

⭐The second edition of Ralph Eagle’s Eye Pathology Atlas and Text is superb. This book is a must for any ophthalmology resident and fellow, for a comprehensive ophthalmologist wishing to stay current with both ophthalmology and eye pathology, for general pathologists, and even for eye pathologists. The text in the book is concise and to the point and includes the latest updates in the field of eye pathology and ophthalmology. However, one of the most important assets of the book are amazing illustrations. The quality, detail and descriptive summaries are unsurpassed.A huge bonus in this book is the on-line materials available to the users. These include the digital book, the digital images with higher magnification for detailed viewing, and (VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE RESIDENTS AND RE-CERTIFYING OPHTHALMOLOGISTS!)the excellent multiple choice test questions followed by answers.I will finish this review by repeating the statement: This book is an absolute must for anyone interested in or wishing to know more about eye pathology!

⭐This book is full of high quality pictures and online questions are perfect for review and self-testing. Great way to learn ophthalmic pathology and clinical correlations!

⭐An invaluable resource for physicians, residents, and students interested in learning eye pathology. The text is full of high quality photographs of ophthalmic pathology with relevant clinical correlations! The included online self-assessment questions were perfect for review and self-testing.

⭐This is an excellent and concise textbook on ophthalmic pathology with rich and high quality illustrations. It covers common and less common conditions, including histology and molecular underpinnings. It is suitable for medical professionals with a wide variety of backgrounds because the first chapters cover basic knowledge in pathology, for example explanations on granulomatous inflammation etc. It was recommended to me by a consultant in ophthalmic pathology to review in preparation for certification exam in neuropathology in a European country.
