Description

This book discusses the new era of modern retinal laser therapy and its clinical applications. While the photocoagulation era universally presupposed the therapeutic necessity of laser-induced retinal damage, the modern retinal laser therapy is equally opposed to this idea. The evidence for this sea-change in the understanding of retinal laser is well presented within this book, and the conceptual and clinical consequences are discussed with particular emphasis on the emergence of retinal laser therapy as the first reasonable preventive and restorative intervention for the most important retinal disorders. Finally, the future of modern retinal laser therapy is highlighted with respect to coming technological advances, remaining challenges, and the place of retinal laser in the management of retinal disease. This book is an essential resource for all ophthalmic residents and clinicians seeking a clear and concise guide to modern retinal laser therapy in their everyday practice.

⭐I’m having a ball reading this book, everything is expressed perfectly, this book is perfect not only for the 3 volumes but also for the online version that you can read it on you tablet everywhere and you can see the pictures perfectly . Moreover, is has the latest info of every issueCongratulations in this bookMatias iglicki MD

⭐Retina is the very well-known comprehensive review of the most updated knowledge of this field, written by the expert authors than are the most trusted. Not only in the first time retina education, but through the practice of this speciality, it is the most reliable companion of a practitioner.

⭐Updated edition of the best book of the chorioretinal diseases ever wrote !!! I like the structure and style of writing of this book.

⭐The content is excellent but getting to it is very difficult. Unbeknownst to me at the time of purchase and despite what it says in the description, the website is not available to the Kindle edition owners. The Kindle version ebook index is very poor and to make it even worse, it takes minutes for the search to finish. Maneuvering to a specific chapter is very difficult too. You can only put the book on 2 devices and when I upgraded my iPad, I have yet to find how to deauthorize my old one so that i can move it to the new one.I have owned every previous edition of Retina and find it a phenomenal resource. I complained to the publisher about the Kindle edition and they did not care. Complaining to Amazon got me $10 credit but didn’t make the book more usable; they said that it was up to the publisher. The book description has not changed on the Amazon website, still saying that you have instant access to your ebook.Probably best to buy the print edition and hopefully you will get the web access as I did in the past.

⭐At first evening glance, this was a big disappointment, at least the medical part. Important topics were superficially covered and certain well known diagnoses not covered at all (e.g. SUSAC syndrome) It seems to me priority was given lots of images without neccessarily quality relevance.to the topic.

⭐EXCELENT paper quality, content and pictures. Very complete and updated. The on-line version is allways available and complete also. I strongly recommend it

⭐Excelent

⭐great comprehensive book.

⭐I got it in 4 days. No cimplains. That’s the way to do busyness.

Retinal and Choroidal Angiogenesis () by John Penn PDF

Ebook Info

  • Published:
  • Number of pages:
  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 9.86 MB
  • Authors: John Penn

Description

Retinal and choroidal angiogenesis are the leading causes of irreversible vision loss in developed countries. For this reason, ocular angiogenesis is an intensely studied process, and the field is advancing at an astounding pace. It has become increasingly difficult to manage the vast amount of information generated by the growing group of interested investigators, thus a resource is needed that distills and summarizes our progress to date.Retinal and Choroidal Angiogenesis provides a comprehensive, in-depth review of our current understanding of the growth of blood vessels within the eye. Renowned academic scientists, pharmaceutical scientists, and clinician-scientists have contributed chapters identifying the cellular and molecular mechanisms of retinal and choroidal angiogenesis; defining animal models of these pathologic processes; or describing the application of current tools, techniques, and theories to disease pathogenesis in humans suffering from conditions characterized by ocular angiogenesis. Additionally, novel therapeutic strategies for the treatment of ocular angiogenesis are discussed, as are the unique challenges presented by delivery of drugs to the eye.Retinal and Choroidal Angiogenesis emphasizes basic principles rather than specific experimental results, although recently acquired data is frequently cited to illustrate points of broader theoretical significance. The result is a reference work appealing to ophthalmologists interested in clinical applications, as well as to basic scientists interested in the cellular and molecular mechanisms of angiogenesis, both in the context of ocular and non-ocular conditions.

Retinal and Choroidal Imaging in Systemic Diseases () by Jay Chhablani PDF

Ebook Info

  • Published:
  • Number of pages:
  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 15.77 MB
  • Authors: Jay Chhablani

Description

This book explains the underlying rationale for retinal and choroidal imaging in the context of systemic diseases. Various systemic diseases involve the eyes, and for some, the eyes could provide the first clue to their presence. Advances in posterior segment imaging have significantly improved our understanding of the pathophysiology and management of posterior segment diseases. However, imaging techniques like enhanced depth imaging, oximetry, adaptive optics, and retinal blood flowmetry have remained largely unexplored in connection with systemic diseases. Enhancing the available literature on the use of such imaging techniques for various systemic diseases, this handbook will help readers understand their pathomechanisms, supporting early diagnosis and more targeted therapeutic approaches. As such, it offers an essential resource for ophthalmologists, especially those with predominantly vitreo-retinal and uvea experience.

Description

OCT is a relatively new imaging technique that is becoming increasingly popular among ophthalmologists in both private and academic settings. Imaging has been a slow moving area in ophthalmology for some time, but now OCT is providing another, more detailed source of demonstrable change in the eye, in diagnostic, therapeutic or post-surgical setting. OCT and ultrasound both measure advancing disease states and post surgical healing. The difference is that OCT shows more subtle changes, particularly post-surgically.
